Development of the Anchor Point tourist area

Development of the Anchor Point tourist area

Located 20 km north of Agadir, in close proximity to the village of Taghazout and the integrated tourist resort of Taghazout Bay, the tourist development unit of Anchor Point, covering an area of 32 hectares, aims to promote a new form of niche tourism in the Souss Massa region, based on the principles of sustainable and responsible tourism.

This project is built around a surf village concept, designed in harmony with the local context of the renowned Anchor Point surf spot, while ensuring the preservation of the site’s natural resources, particularly its forest cover dominated by argan trees.

SDRT actions

As part of the first phase of the project, SDR Tourisme Souss Massa carried out several structuring interventions, notably the definition of the overall development concept for the area, as well as the implementation of roadworks and hydraulic structures, the installation of drinking water supply networks, the deployment of sanitation networks, and the installation of electrical infrastructure.

As a continuation of these development works, SDR Tourisme Souss Massa completed the development of two parking areas. These facilities, now operational, are intended to improve site accessibility and enhance reception conditions for investors and visitors frequenting the Anchor Point surf spot and the adjacent beach.

Planned projects

The area includes 13 tourism projects, offering a total accommodation capacity of approximately 600 beds, with a four-star standard.
