Tourism Development Units

In response to novel global tourism trends, the Souss Massa region, renowned as a tourist destination, has redirected its territorial development policy by establishing innovative Tourism Development Units (UAT). These units are located in nationally and internationally recognized tourist sites and aim to enhance niche tourism potential while ensuring sustainable development.
The UATs are designed to attract discerning travelers seeking authentic destinations that combine well-being, culture, nature, and adventure. They also foster innovative, eco-friendly projects that benefit both investors and local communities. Since 2020, SDRT Souss Massa has conducted architectural and technical studies to optimize planning and align these sites with sustainability principles. The development of these projects is supported through partnerships with local, regional, and national stakeholders. Key UATs include Anchor Point, Imsouane, Mouanou in Tiznit, and the Drarga Wildlife and Leisure Park, with some already under development and others in the study phase.

Anchor Point
The Unité d’Aménagement Touristique (UAT) Anchor Point is located 20 km north of Agadir, just north of the village of Taghazout and the new integrated tourism resort, Taghazout Bay. This area introduces a new form of niche tourism in the Souss-Massa region, combining authenticity with environmental respect.

Imsouane
The tourist area allocated for investment in Imsouane encompasses a total area of 20 hectares, with 11.4 hectares designated for investment projects and a total budget of 54 million Dirhams.

Drarga Animal and Leisure Park
The Drarga Animal and Leisure Park, situated 7 km from Agadir, spans 130 hectares within the forest domain, strategically located near the N8 national road and the North-East bypass of Greater Agadir.
