{"id":4285,"date":"2026-03-30T18:03:45","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T18:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/?post_type=actualites&#038;p=4285"},"modified":"2026-03-30T18:11:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T18:11:05","slug":"holding-of-the-board-of-directors-meeting-of-the-regional-tourism-development-company-sdr-tourisme-souss-massa","status":"publish","type":"actualites","link":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/actualites\/holding-of-the-board-of-directors-meeting-of-the-regional-tourism-development-company-sdr-tourisme-souss-massa\/","title":{"rendered":"Holding of the Board of Directors meeting of the Regional Tourism Development Company (SDR Tourisme Souss Massa)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Souss Massa Regional Tourism Development Company (SDR Tourisme Souss Massa)<\/strong> held its Board of Directors meeting on <strong>March 30, 2026<\/strong>, to present and approve the company\u2019s activity report for the 2025 financial year, as well as to present the 2026 action plan and provisional budget.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was chaired by <strong>Mr. Saa\u00efd AMZAZI<\/strong>, Wali of the Souss Massa Region and Chairman of the Board, in the presence of Board members and the Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n<p>In his opening remarks, the Wali highlighted the particularly favorable context experienced by the tourism sector in 2025, both at the national and regional levels.<\/p>\n<h3>Regional tourism: remarkable performance<\/h3>\n<p>At the regional level, the destinations of <strong>Agadir and Taghazout<\/strong> recorded more than <strong>1.5 million tourist arrivals<\/strong> (+9% compared to 2024) and over <strong>6.3 million overnight stays<\/strong> (+7.65% compared to 2024). The <strong>occupancy rate of classified tourist accommodation establishments<\/strong> exceeded <strong>66%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Wali commended the strong mobilization of all regional stakeholders for the successful organization of the <strong>Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)<\/strong> in Agadir, one of the six host cities. In this regard, he emphasized the richness of the entertainment and cultural program implemented during this period, with a significant contribution from SDR Tourisme.<\/p>\n<h3>Deployment of the Integrated Territorial Development Program<\/h3>\n<p>The Wali also stressed the rollout of the <strong>Integrated Territorial Development Program (PDTI)<\/strong> across the Souss Massa region, in line with the royal vision launched by <strong>His Majesty King Mohammed VI<\/strong>. This program aims at the overall upgrading of territories, the enhancement of local potential, and job creation. He underlined the key role of tourism in socio-economic development and employment generation.<\/p>\n<p>He invited SDR Tourisme to fully align with this new generation of programs by consolidating its ongoing tourism development projects across the region.<\/p>\n<h3>2025: a year of major achievements for SDR Tourisme<\/h3>\n<p>In 2025, SDR Tourisme Souss Massa recorded significant progress across several entrusted programs and projects, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continued tourism development works across multiple sites and tourist circuits, such as <strong>Kasbah d\u2019Aghennaj, Imouzzer center, Assif N Lhed cave, Ammelne promenade, Askaouen park, Tislit gorges rest area, Phase 2 of the Tiout palm grove, Reggada Ouled Jerra M\u00e9nara, Ait Baha park, and the site near Ahl Souss dam<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Progress in the development of <strong>tourism investment units in Anchor Point and Imsouane<\/strong>, as well as the <strong>Taghazout corniche<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Internal development of a strategic reflection to identify sites suitable for <strong>light eco-tourism between Taghazout and Imsouane<\/strong>, including implementation modalities;<\/li>\n<li>Completion of the <strong>tourist information kiosks in Tata and Tiznit<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Continuation of renovation and upgrading programs for tourist accommodation establishments, benefiting <strong>17 establishments in Agadir and 17 in rural areas<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening the management system of sites operated by SDR Tourisme: <strong>Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, Medina of Agadir, Agadir Beach Tourist Information Center, and Al Amal Tourist Information Kiosk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These sites recorded strong visitor attendance, with daily averages of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>532 visitors\/day<\/strong> at the Medina of Agadir<\/li>\n<li><strong>255 visitors\/day<\/strong> at the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella<\/li>\n<li><strong>185 visitors\/day<\/strong> at the Tourist Information Center and kiosk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, SDR Tourisme organized various cultural and tourism events across its managed sites and co-organized two major fairs dedicated to <strong>crafts and local products<\/strong>, held from <strong>December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026<\/strong>, on the occasion of AFCON. These events brought together over <strong>100 artisans and cooperatives<\/strong> and featured <strong>168 demonstration workshops and 56 participatory workshops<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>SDR Tourisme 2026 Program: new regional perspectives<\/h3>\n<p>For 2026, SDR Tourisme plans an ambitious program focused on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Launching projects under the <strong>Urban Development Plan (PDU) of Taroudannt<\/strong>, including the <strong>lighting of the Medina walls, rehabilitation and illumination of historic gates, and tourist signage<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Continuing tourism development and enhancement actions for high-potential sites across the region;<\/li>\n<li>Developing the <strong>first phases of the Imsouane and Aglou corniches<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Launching promotional campaigns to strengthen the <strong>Agadir Souss Massa destination<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Continuing renovation and upgrading programs for tourist accommodation establishments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Approvals and strategic evolution<\/h3>\n<p>At the end of the meeting, the Board of Directors reviewed and approved all items on the agenda, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The company\u2019s <strong>activity report for 2025<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>annual financial statements as of December 31, 2025<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>management report for the 2025 financial year<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>2026 action plan and provisional budget<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The draft resolutions to be submitted to the next <strong>Ordinary General Assembly<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>expansion of the company\u2019s mandate<\/strong> to fully assume its role as a development and planning agency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4282,"template":"","class_list":["post-4285","actualites","type-actualites","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/actualites\/4285","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/actualites"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/actualites"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4282"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sdrtourisme-sm.ma\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4285"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
