Cultural Mediator / Guide (Two Fixed-Term Positions)

As part of strengthening its organizational structure, the Souss Massa Regional Tourism Development Company (SDR S.A) is launching an external call for applications to fill two fixed-term positions (CDD) for Cultural Mediator/Guide.
These positions are hierarchically attached to the Site Manager of Agadir Oufella.


I. About the Souss Massa Regional Tourism Development Company (SDR S.A):

The Souss Massa Regional Tourism Development Company is a regional development entity created under Organic Law No. 111.14 relating to regions.
Its main missions are to:

  • Contribute to the implementation of the national tourism strategy at the regional level;
  • Develop new tourism products in the region;
  • Promote the cultural and natural capital of the region;
  • Implement projects related to its corporate purpose as delegated project owner;
  • Ensure the management and support of tourism products;
  • Develop and manage the tourism destination, particularly through digital tools;
  • Mobilize the necessary resources to achieve the company’s founding objectives.

II. Main Responsibilities:

The main tasks of the Cultural Mediator include:

  • Welcoming visitors, answering their questions, guiding their visits, and providing them with the necessary information about the Agadir Oufella site;
  • Leading guided tours, workshops, and meetings tailored to various audiences (children, adults, seniors);
  • Raising public awareness about the importance of heritage and its preservation through educational workshops and programs, as well as through the distribution of informational materials;
  • Participating in the development of mediation tools (brochures, explanatory panels, digital materials);
  • Assisting in audience research and promoting future projects related to the Kasbah;
  • Staying up to date with cultural, artistic, and educational trends to enhance mediation offerings.

III. Desired Profile:

  • Degree related to heritage, culture, history, tourism, languages, communication, or equivalent;
  • Experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of history and heritage is highly desirable.

IV. Required Skills:

  • Good proficiency in English and French;
  • Knowledge of cultural mediation practices;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Solid general and historical knowledge;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Active listening;
  • Pedagogy and adaptability to diverse audiences;
  • Honesty;
  • Team spirit and sense of initiative.
