Urban Development Program of Agadir (PDU) 2020-2024
Launched in 2020 under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Urban Development Program of Agadir (PDU) 2020-2024 aims to transform the city into a leading economic and urban hub. With a budget of 7 billion dirhams, this ambitious project seeks to improve infrastructure, public services, and the overall living environment, positioning Agadir as a more equitable and sustainable city.
As part of the implementation of the PDU, the SDRT has been designated as the delegated project owner for two major projects: the heritage restoration of the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella and the construction of the tourist information center and an administrative complex on Agadir beach. Additionally, studies on the management and operation of various socio-cultural projects within the PDU framework have been entrusted to SDRT Souss-Massa.
Heritage Restoration of the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella
In accordance with international standards for post-disaster heritage interventions, a restoration project has been initiated to rehabilitate the historic Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, which was damaged by the 1960 earthquake. The project utilizes the latest technological advancements to restore the site while preserving its historical authenticity.
Development of the Tourist Information Center and the Beach Administrative Complex
The development of the tourist information center and the beach administrative complex is part of a broader strategy to enhance the attractiveness of the Souss-Massa region. The center is designed to welcome, guide, and inform visitors about the region’s tourist offerings, activities, and attractions.
Contribution to defining the management models for certain cultural and sports projects within the Urban Development Plan (UDP).
The SDRT Souss Massa actively contributes to enriching the regional socio-cultural fabric by collaborating closely with local and regional stakeholders to develop strategies for managing and developing cultural, sports, and leisure infrastructures in Agadir.
