Lake Ifni and Surroundings
Lake Ifni, perched at 2,295 meters in the heart of Toubkal National Park, is Morocco’s largest mountain lake. Situated 70 kilometers south of Marrakech in the High Atlas region of Taroudannt Province, this pristine lake is a favorite among trekkers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts. It offers a serene escape, surrounded by vibrant biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
Recognizing its potential as a key tourism site, SDRT Souss-Massa developed projects to improve access and visitor facilities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.
SDRT Intervention Scope
- Development of the 5-kilometer Andoz-Lake Ifni trail with designated rest stops
- Creation of a bivouac area with essential facilities, including a booth, toilets, pergolas, and seating
- Installation of signage to guide and inform visitors
