Chalal Al Atiq Tourist Site

Chalal Al Atiq Tourist Site

Located approximately 70 kilometers east of Tata, in the commune of Tissint, the Al Atiq waterfalls are situated within a stunning desert landscape adorned with natural rock formations. These waterfalls, characterized by their salty waters—giving rise to Tissint’s name derived from the Amazigh word for “salt”—create a serene environment ideal for relaxation. Often regarded as a tranquil oasis amidst the desert, this site offers an exceptional natural setting conducive to leisure activities, particularly picnics. It attracts numerous visitors, especially during the summer months, due to its expansive downstream basin that welcomes bathers. The waterfalls cascade over a rocky outcrop, surrounded by palm trees, with a backdrop of small rocky hills.

To capitalize on the site’s potential, the Souss-Massa SDRT has initiated a development project aimed at enhancing visitor reception conditions.
