The Kasbah of Agadir Oufella

The Kasbah of Agadir Oufella

Designated as a historical monument in 1932 and again in 1944, the Kasbah reflects the splendor of the Saadian Dynasty as well as the diverse communities that inhabited it. Today, it serves as a living testament to cultural exchange.

Since 2020, the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella and its vicinity have undergone rehabilitation and development under the SDR Tourisme Souss-Massa as part of the Urban Development Program (PDU) for the City of Agadir (2020-2024). The framework agreement was signed on February 4, 2020, under the auspices of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This extensive restoration project received funding from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Culture, the Souss Massa Region, and the Al Omrane Group, with project management conducted by SDR Tourisme Souss-Massa. The outdoor areas of the Kasbah ramparts were opened to the public in July 2022, while the interior of the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella welcomed visitors starting February 3, 2024.

Thoroughly rehabilitated to showcase its historical grandeur, the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella is now managed by SDR Tourisme, which has implemented various cultural mediation tools within a site development strategy, allowing visitors to engage in a temporal journey during their exploration.
