The Kasbah of Agadir Oufella
Following the completion of a significant portion of the rehabilitation work, carried out as part of the 2020–2024 Urban Development Plan (PDU), the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella officially opened its doors to the public on February 3, 2024, attracting visitors from all around the world.
Moreover, prior to the reopening of the Kasbah, SDR Tourisme Souss Massa was officially appointed as the manager of the site. This decision is in line with a logic of continuity, as the rehabilitation of the Kasbah was overseen and coordinated by the SDR Tourisme teams.
To ensure a high-quality visitor experience, several key actions have been implemented by SDR Tourisme Souss Massa:
-
The recruitment of a dedicated team responsible for the daily management of the Kasbah, including a site manager, reception staff, cultural mediators, maintenance agents, security personnel, and more.
-
The establishment of both physical and digital ticketing systems, allowing visitors to purchase tickets on-site or online.
-
The installation of interpretation panels both inside and outside the Kasbah, providing detailed insights into the site’s historical background.
-
The deployment of multilingual audioguides, available in both physical and digital formats, in five languages (Arabic, Amazigh, French, English, and Spanish), offering visitors a 45-minute immersive historical journey.
-
The organization of one-hour guided tours led by cultural mediators, delivering a more enriching and interactive experience.
-
The creation of a souvenir shop offering products inspired by local craftsmanship and heritage.
-
The development of a wide range of communication tools to facilitate access to information and reservations, while promoting the history and heritage of the Kasbah—these include brochures, flyers, social media pages, a website, and a mobile app.
