Wali of the Souss Massa Region, Saïd Amzazi, Conducts an Inspection Visit to the Tourist Area of Tiout

Tiout, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 – Presentation of the progress of the tourist and landscape development works at the Tiout Palm Grove.

As part of the ongoing follow-up of projects in the hinterland of the Souss Massa region, Mr. Saïd Amzazi, Wali of the Souss Massa Region, conducted a visit to the Tiout Palm Grove. During this visit, the Wali reviewed the progress of the tourist development works at the palm grove, a project entrusted to SDR Tourisme Souss Massa.

The first phase of the development includes the construction of parking areas and rehabilitation of existing basins, installation of restrooms and kiosks, landscaping of walkways along the saguia (irrigation canal), and the placement of furniture and signage. The tender documentation for Phase 2 is currently being finalized and will cover the extension of the walkways along the saguia.

Located southeast of Taroudannt, about 30 km along the “Ighram-Tata” road, Tiout is known for its unique natural, historical, and cultural features. The area is renowned for its countless palm trees, subsistence farming, and intricate irrigation canals, all of which give the palm grove a refreshing and pleasant atmosphere during the hot seasons.
