Argan and Handicraft Exhibition
Under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the city of Agadir is hosting the Argan and Handicrafts Exhibition, which runs from December 21, 2025, to January 16, 2026.
This exhibition, which aims to promote craft heritage and local products while highlighting the richness and diversity of Moroccan and African cultural heritage, is organized in partnership between the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the Souss-Massa Regional Council, the National Agency for the Development of Oasis Zones and the Argan Tree (ANDZOA), La Maison de l’Artisan, and the SDR Tourisme Souss Massa.
The event is a prominent cultural and economic milestone, coinciding with the city hosting matches for the 2025 African Cup of Nations football tournament, as one of the host cities for this continental event, serving thus as a genuine showcase for highlighting exceptional artisanal skills, shedding light on the beauty and precision of Moroccan and sub-Saharan African traditional craftsmanship, in addition to the rural products of the Souss-Massa region, particularly the derivatives of the argan tree.
Alongside exhibition stands set up for traditional artisans and cooperatives, a rich and diverse program has been prepared. This includes:
- Live demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship, such as pottery, jewelry, weaving, and more;
- Interactive workshops allowing the public direct contact with traditional artisans and the opportunity to learn the basics of these authentic trades;
- A henna and calligraphy area, allowing visitors to experience and appreciate these traditional arts;
- Show-cooking sessions to promote local products through the presentation of various traditional dishes;
- Diverse artistic segments including musical and folklore performances reflecting the richness and diversity of Moroccan and sub-Saharan culture;
- An entertainment and educational space dedicated to children, featuring storytelling sessions, shows, and educational games.
The events of this exhibition are held across three main places: the Crown Prince Square, the square opposite the Agadir Commune headquarters, and the Marina Agadir Fans’ Zone.
Through this event, held as part of both the 4th edition of the International Argan Exhibition, and the 9th edition of the National Handicrafts Week, the organizers aim to achieve a set of developmental objectives, foremost among them encouraging the local and social economy, enhancing the tourist appeal of the city of Agadir and the Souss-Massa region, and providing an authentic and renewed cultural experience for Moroccan and foreign visitors, thereby contributing to strengthening the Country’s influence on both the continental and international levels.
